A.M.E.N.A. is the "solo" clarinets chamber orchestra of the Philharmonic Society Pietro Borgognoni of Pistoia (Tuscany, Italy).
Their name "amena", seemingly is only an adjective that means "agreeable music" ,
but really it is the double acronym of the names of the initial components and of the latin phrase “Alma Musa Elevetur Nostra Anima”.
At the same time, "amena" is their motto, which
represents the synthesis and the cultural
intention of the orchestra: to play
“amena” music (that is, according to the
dictionary: fun, pleasing, and, why not,
intriguing music).
The challenge for these musicians is to be able to
entertain and attract any audience.
The listener's curiosity is tickled with a program
of original arrangements, able to give the listener
the vibrations and sensations of the great
authors who are explored, using the clarinet as
an instrument of exceptional versatility.
Amena is formed by clarinet masters:
Andrea Mazzei
Nicla Pagliai
Elena Corsini
Stefano Cecchi
Alberto Rossi
